Individual Pupil Adaptations

We embrace that children are not all the same and we have some special settings available.

Setting them up is quick and optional - the default settings cover most pupils.

You can simply select Set Adaptations on an individual pupil, or select multiple pupils and click ❄ Set adptations below the select multiple option.

This will bring up a menu like so:

Maths anxiety or Dyscalculia

	Fall back to foundational topics when slow, making a lot of mistakes, or persistently asking for help.
	Do not increase difficulty automatically with correct answers.
	Do not progress automatically to follow on topics.
	Start difficulty level at base level or highest that's been answered correctly.
	Remove topics from rotation if they require ability in previously skipped questions.
	Less practice in topics where there's been most progress.
	Don't remove mastered topics from the menus.
	Ignore time taken in deciding if a topic has been mastered.
	Minimally different questions at lowest difficulty level (ie after 5+3, ask 5+4).
	Allow skipping of any question type (excluding arithmetic).
	Allow skipping of arithmetic questions.

Dyslexia

	Increased letter spacing
	Listen to questions. This can also be achieved on a question by question basis by clicking the speech icon (top right of question). Questions can be answered by being spoken out loud by clicking 💬, down by the keyboard.

Software colour filter:
NB - this will be the default when logging on to a device. It can be toggled on/off for a specific device (ie one that has a physical filter) by going into settings (link at very bottom of page) on that device.

None

ADD / ADHD

	Quiet colour scheme.
	Hide freehand working widget (doodle pad).
	Change question type more frequently.
	Lock to full screen.
	Remove non-essential buttons.
	Hide first know, follow on, easier and harder buttons.
	Skip multiple choice questions after one wrong answer.

Visual impairment

	Listen to every question out loud (beta). This can also be achieved on a question by question basis by clicking the speech icon (top right of question). Questions can be answered by being spoken out loud by clicking 💬, down by the keyboard.
	Dark mode - white on black.
	Large font.
	Enable pinch zoom. This is off by default as accidental pinch zooms are sometimes frustrating.
