The 0Maths blogWithout feeling rushed, pupils simply do more maths on 0maths than on our rivals. In a typical 15 minute session on 0maths, 100 correctly answered questions is surprisingly common. The advantanges of this are both obvious and less obvious:
- The more maths someone does, the better they become at it.
- We do not break the flow. Children get immersed in what they are doing, which means they're better able to concentrate and better able to recall what they've learned.
So what's the secret?
- Our unique typed answers with no submit button are the fastest way to enter an answer. In contrast, with multiple choice answers, most people read all the answers, and consider each one, before choosing one; this is an extra step that needn't be there.
- We don't take time out for a reward. Right answers are rewarded with coins landing (visibly and audibly) as the next question is shown.
- No games between questions. They break the flow, introduce competing memories and can take more much time than the actual maths.
