Autistic Spectrum Disorders

Pupils with ASD can be exceptional at maths. However the range of abilities is broad. We do what we can to nurture them in a subject that they may have an affinity with:

  1. We present problems visually where practicable, at least initially:
  2. Skills are broken down, step by step:
  3. We tie new concepts back to topics they are familiar with - no surprises:
  4. And finally, what we don't do:
    • No timers.
    • No peer to peer competitions.
    • No league tables. Learning is an individual journey.
